Motion Sensors & Controls

MT400 Series Motion Controller
Gotcha The MT400 series is a complete monitor and control system for all your material handling equipment. Twelve models available.

  • DIGITAL DISPLAY
    • Three second to start-time frame: Monitored equipment has three seconds from start to run. (The equipment does not have to reach operation speed).
    • Monitors acceleration to (Normal) operation speed. If monitored equipment should overload before reaching (Normal) operation speed, shut down will occur before damaging equipment.
    • De-acceleration before reaching operating speed feature
  • STATUS INDICATORS - L.E.D.
    • 10% Speed Reduction - 20% Speed Reduction: Arm (will light when monitored equipment reaches 90% of normal speed during startup), Target.
  • PROBE
    • Metal Detection - frequency balanced can sense steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass etc.
    • PROBE HOUSING: (PVC) 1 ¼ O.D. x 5" long with 3' pigtail sealed leads (Larger probes available - 2", 2.5" and 3" Outside Diameters.)
    • Probe voltage 12 VDC (MAX)
  • TARGET DISC
    • 4" Diameter
  • HOUSING
    • Main CPU Housing:
      • NEMA 4 - with viewing port
      • ¾" conduit hole for high voltage
      • ½" conduit hole for low voltage
  • OUTPUTS
    • Relay Outputs:
      • 10% Speed Reduction-Common-N/O-N/C Relay Contacts
      • 20% Speed Reduction-Common-N/O-N/C Relay Contacts
      • Alarm output: Common-Normally Open
    • 4-20 milli-amp out:
      • 12 milli-amp=100%
  • WIRING
    • Stand Alone Unit: All terminals-power-etc, on CPU printed circuit board. Display PC board can be remotely mounted.
    • All terminals for incoming field connections are located on printed board.
  • RATINGS
    • Electronic Housing Input Voltage: 120VAC 50/60HZ at 1 AMP
    • Relay Contacts rated 3 or 7 AMPS at 250 VAC depending on model.
  • EASY CALIBRATION
    • Calibration is accomplished by using a one turn potentiometer.

MT-300 Series Motion Controls
  • Tachometer
    • Provides visual notice of speed loss by percentage. Allows detection of potential problem in advance of breakdown or hazard.
    MT-300
  • Target Indicator
    • Flashes one time as each target passes probe.
  • Overspeed Indicator (optional)
    • Visual indication that overspeed condition exists
  • Underspeed Indicator
    • Visual indicator that underspeed condition exists
  • Easy Adjustment
    • ONE adjustment and you are operating
  • RPM Ranges
    • 20 to 1000 rpm (standard)
    • 1 to 5000 rpm (optional)
  • Target Ranges
    • 10 to 200 Targets (optional)
    • 200 to 1000 Targets (standard)
    • 1000 to 5000 Targets (optional)
    • MT-300 can utilize probe cable lengths of 1000ft. without requiring amplification
  • 3 Second Start To Move Feature
    • The monitored equipment is allowed 3 seconds to start moving from the time the start button is pressed. If no movement within 3 seconds, MT-300 Motion Sensor will shut monitored equipment off before damage can occur. Continuous monitoring from start to 100%
  • Arm Indicator
    • Visual indication that motion sensor is armed and ready to operate
  • Decelerating Before Monitored Equipment Reaches Operating Speed Shutdown
    • if for any reason the monitored equipment should start decelerating before reaching operating speed, the MT-300 Motion Sensor will shut down monitored equipment
  • Operates on 1/60/115 VAC, Relay Output Rates 7 Amps
  • All Indicators Are LED's
    • All indicators are displayed on front of unit, making all signals available for viewing
  • Panel Mount Units Available
  • Mounting Probe On Elevator
  • Metal Buckets Or Plastic Buckets
    • Cut 6" square hole in the steel elevator wall. Using polyethylene mounting plate as reference, drill 4 holes in elevator case.
    • Mount probe on centerline of one row of bolts when belt is centered on head and boot pulleys.
  • Using Target Disc.
    • To avoid excessive shutdowns or warnings because the elevator has too much side to side movement, beltsway, or too many missing targets (blots or buckets), these problems must be corrected before installing motion sensor.
    • If after attempting to correct these problems unsuccessfully, or should the MT-300 motions sensor be installed without attempting to correct problems YOU MUST USE A TARGET DISC.
    • The target discs are available from Maxi-Tronic. Installation drawings are available upon request.
